city tower one

FINE ART ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

SARAB Art Production, the Dubai fine art architectural photography studio led by Ahmad Alnaji, photographed City Tower One as part of the city it stands in. The 358-metre Pelli Clarke & Partners tower rises 93 floors on Sheikh Zayed Road, and at sunset its facade turns gold above everything around it. The series was made from the distances the tower is actually read at, with the people of Dubai in the frame. A volleyball game on the sand, camels at the enclosure, the tower from the historical Satwa neighborhood. Architecture belongs to the life around it, and that is where SARAB photographs it.

The work covers the tower from across the city, from Sheikh Zayed Road itself, and in the details of its facade, in daylight and at sunset. Pelli Clarke & Partners, the firm Cesar Pelli founded, designed City Tower One inside a master plan meant to tie that stretch of the road to the streets behind it, so photographing it in its context reads the design the way the architects thought about it. ArchDaily published twenty-six of the photographs under the headline "Pelli Clarke & Partners' City Tower One and Dubai Cityscape Under the Lens of Ahmad Alnaji."
